Playtesting Without Humans: Agent-Based Modeling as Testing Tool for Game Spaces
Paper: Neske, M., and Dyrda, D. (2023). Playtesting Without Humans: Agent-Based Modeling as Testing Tool for Game Spaces. SKILL 2023 - Studierendenkonferenz Informatik.
Abstract: The experience players have in a video game is heavily affected by the game spaces of the game. These game spaces are created in an iterative fashion with playtests in between to gather data regarding the quality. Playtests require lots of resources like time, supervisors, and playtesters. We propose an approach based on agent-based modeling using artificial intelligence agents to gather playtest data for the testing of video games. In this context, we present potential opportunities and risks by implementing a first demonstrator.
