Virtual Ocarina

"Virtual Ocarina" is a free virtual instrument for mobile platforms—a digital version of a real ocarina.

Playing the Ocarina: You play the ocarina by blowing into the microphone of your smartphone while pressing the virtual keys on the screen. Different key combinations produce different tones. The combinations are based on a real four-hole ocarina. Check out the project page on GitHub for builds and additional information on how to play an ocarina.

It is free. This means it is made to be expanded: You can find the source code and further details in the project repository on GitHub. The project is developed with Unity and originally created by me for use in lectures at the university to teach the principles of simple audio input and bitmasks–at some point in their life, everyone should have implemented a virtual ocarina .

So if you haven't implemented one yet, just join the project. I would love to extend the implementation with additional notes and different types of instruments. So, if you are into audio and you are motivated to work on a virtual instrument, just get in touch.
